Launch of Facilitators´ toolkit
Interactive exercises, stories, and case studies. In April the Freedom of Religion or Belief facilitators’ toolkit was launched in a digital event with around 50 participants from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
The Facilitators’ Toolkit is a digital toolbox filled with exercises, methods, and pedagogy for courses and workshops on religious freedom and other human rights. It is equally useful for training local groups, religious leaders, and politicians. The toolkit is a learning material produced for the FORB learning platform.
On April 26, the material was presented in a digital event with around 50 participants from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. The material consists of a large number of interactive exercises, case studies, quiz questions, and a variety of tools and tips for you as an education leader to choose from based on your group and your context.
Wide range of exercises
The toolkit has a wide range of exercises and stories, covering all possible scenarios that may arise when conducting training. This makes you prepared and not worried.
– I especially appreciate the “tricky questions” section, which deals with how you as an education leader address and respond to sensitive or difficult questions, says Hidaya Dude, who tested the material in Zanzibar.
The Facilitators´ Toolkit is one of several educational materials produced within the framework of the religious freedom network NORFORB, and those familiar with the Local Changemakers course will recognize both the form and content, developed by the SMC’s advisor for religious and belief freedom, Katherine Cash.
– The difference from Local Changemakers is that this material includes exercises for many different target groups. While Local Changemakers targeted local groups, the Facilitators´ Toolkit includes exercises that work whether you’re working with diplomats, politicians, religious leaders, or grassroots says Katherine Cash.
